Good Aura Live: Come For The Party, Stay For The Cause

Storm damage doesn’t end when the headlines do. Families are often left navigating repairs long after the news cycle moves on. This is certainly the case in Nashville after the recent snow, sleet, and ice storm caused trees to explode in the cold and branches to buckle under the weight of the accumulated ice. Downed power lines across the region left hundreds of thousands of Middle Tennesseans without electricity, and with lasting property damage from the falling trees.

In partnership with Aura Events Center and The Equity Alliance, the National Museum of African American Music is proud to introduce Good Aura Live, a community impact event that exists to bridge that gap in care. This monthly series brings together music, comedy, and community to fund direct relief for individuals in our area repairing storm-related damage to their homes. All proceeds from specialty cocktails and ticket sales will go directly to a verified storm-relief grant fund. All grant funds are managed and distributed through The Equity Alliance, in partnership with Why Nashville, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to community development and disaster relief in Middle Tennessee. Every dollar is tracked, and impact is reported publicly after each Good Aura Live event.

The event on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, will take place at the Aura Lounge (2020 Lindell Ave, Nashville, TN 37203), from 7 PM – 11 PM. Guests can expect a show including high-energy DJ sets in addition to live performances by local talent and an open dance floor. Real-time impact announcements will be made throughout the show, so you can be sure to feel good while doing good.

If you or someone you know is in need of storm-related financial assistance during this time, grant applications are being accepted through the Good Aura Live website. Grants are offered in the following amounts and categories:

  • $1000 – Emergency Relief
  • $2500 – Home Repair
  • $5000 – Home Stabilization

Grant recipients will be selected based on: 1. Severity (extent of the damage and urgency of repair needs), 2. Financial Vulnerability (ability to fund repairs without assistance), and 3. Geographic Balance (ensuring equitable distribution across affected areas, not only in one part of town).

Community Partners like NMAAM multiply this event’s impact by matching funds raised or providing in-kind services in support of the mission. NMAAM is happy to provide every Good Aura grant recipient with a Family Membership to the museum, offering access to the museum’s inspiring exhibits, programs, and events free of charge for two adults and up to four youths per membership. NMAAM has an ongoing and increasing focus on community engagement opportunities such as this one, because a rising tide lifts all boats. Life doesn’t stop when times get tough. Learning and fun shouldn’t either.

Additional Community Partners for this event include: Guidance Whiskey, 615 Tribe, and the Nashville Scene.
