Tim Reid: Life, Laughter, Legacy
Event
About The Show
Written and performed by an iconic, Emmy-nominated actor, producer, director, and humorist, Tim Reid’s One Man Show isn’t just a performance, it’s a journey through the harshness of poverty, segregation, meaning, and the unapologetic truth of becoming.
Blending sharp wit, lived history, and unfiltered insight, Tim takes audiences from the streets of “Colored Town” as a child of the south, to the sound stages of Hollywood — not just to build a career, but to challenge the system.
Tim calls himself a “jackleg historian”, who has used his television and film career to champion the cause to bring integrity and truth to the history of Black Culture. Through decades of experience, he brings the learned wisdom of ancestral intelligence to center stage.
Audiences will laugh, reflect, and walk away with stories the likes of which they were never told before.

About Tim Reid
Tim Reid, with his sharp wit and powerful presence, has been a trailblazer in both comedy and drama — from WKRP in Cincinnati, to Frank’s Place, to Sister, Sister. Behind the camera, he has been a visionary director and producer, and founder of New Millennium Studios, the first Black-owned film studio in America since the 1930s.
As a fixture in Hollywood for more than 40 years, he has ridden the proverbial rollercoaster of fame through both the highs and the lows, and has come away with a profound understanding of fame’s power and its limitations.
For Tim, storytelling has never been just about entertainment; it’s been about the truth, culture, and opening doors for Black creatives to tell their own stories their own way. Tim has used artistry to shape culture and activism to shape communities.
As a cultural advocate, mentor, and storyteller through his Legacy Media Institute, Tim is committed to mentoring emerging filmmakers, and supporting responsible, diverse storytelling. He continues to explore the culture, legacy, and history of the African Diaspora to provide a much-needed antidote to the negative media that is consistently delivered.
