An accomplished finance executive with more than 25 years of experience leading accounting and financial operations across multiple industries, including healthcare and more recently the nonprofit sector, she brings a strategic, disciplined approach to financial stewardship, operational excellence, and sustainable organizational growth.
Since joining NMAAM in May 2024, Michelle has provided leadership in strengthening the organization’s financial infrastructure, including bringing its previously outsourced finance function in-house. Her expertise spans financial reporting and analysis, budget oversight, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, process improvement, and financial systems implementation.
A Tennessee native, Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee and has been affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), and the Association of Nonprofit Accountants & Finance Professionals (ANAFP).
Michelle is committed to advancing NMAAM’s mission through sound financial leadership, strong internal controls, and responsible resource management. She is also passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of finance professionals, and she brings to her role a collaborative leadership style and a genuine love of music.
