Michelle Colquitt brings over 20 years of experience in Accounting & Finance to NMAAM. While her background spans across multiple industries, she spent several years working in the healthcare industry. In more recent years, she decided to transition to the non-profit sector, beginning in 2022, as a manager working for a well-known Nashville-based nonprofit religious organization.

When Michelle joined NMAAM in May of 2024, she was one of the key players in bringing the previously outsourced Finance function back inhouse. Michelle has a proven track record and a passion for streamlining processes, financial analysis, system implementations, and she absolutely loves music! Over the course of her career, she has been responsible for Cash Management, Month-end close, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Michelle is a native of Tennessee, born in Knoxville, TN. She earned her undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga prior to moving to the Nashville area. She earned her MBA from Middle TN State University and passed the CPA exam in 2017, currently holding an active license with the State of TN. Michelle has historically been a member of various certified public accounting organizations, including AICPA, TSCPA, and more recently, ANAFP (Association of Nonprofit Accountants & Finance Professionals).

Even though she has been in the Accounting & Finance field for quite some time, Michelle maintains her enthusiastic when it comes to being of service to others. She always enjoys an opportunity to be a mentor, a coach, or just a vessel of encouragement for anyone looking to have a career in Finance. Working for a meaningful, impactful nonprofit like NMAAM is just the icing on the cake!
