In January 2023, we proudly unveiled Living Legends: Dr. Bobby Jones, honoring the Grammy-winning singer, educator, broadcaster, and longtime host of BET’s groundbreaking Bobby Jones Gospel. For over four decades, Dr. Jones elevated gospel music as both a cultural and crossover force while inspiring generations through his artistry and leadership.
The exhibition, curated by Dr. Bryan Pierce, featured four displays showcasing Jones’ academic achievements, signature performance attire, numerous awards, and his remarkable tenure at BET. A Nashville native and early NMAAM Board member, Dr. Jones’ influence continues to shape gospel music and uplift communities worldwide.
