Tomicka Delgado joined the NMAAM (National Museum of African American Music) team on August 7, 2023, as the Director of Human Resources, bringing extensive years of Human Resources experience.


Her eagerness not only stems from the love of music, but it is also the ability to assist NMAAM’s Leadership Team with focusing on people strategy and the reinforcement of NMAAM’s organizational culture to build a positive & respectful culture for both internal and external customers.

As a native of Tennessee, Tomicka earned her Bachelor of Science from Lipscomb University and Master of Business Administration with a concentration of Human Resources Management & Organizational Development from Strayer University in Nashville, TN.

Although, she enjoys crunching numbers, she finds joy in helping people and decided to transition her profession from Accounting to Human Resources in 2005. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for her dedicated work ethic and proven ability to contribute to overall growth for both profit and non-profit organizations. Over the years, Tomicka has been an active member of SHRM, MT|SHRM and other resourceful organizations and looks forward to continuing her involvement throughout her journey with NMAAM.

She is most passionate about supporting people, serving in a mission-focused and purpose-driven capacity. Her motto: “We will get there, we are in this together!”
