Sherri Neal is the Chief Diversity Officer for HCA Healthcare and is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural competence strategies and programs.

Since joining the company in 2006, she has been a champion of creating a culture of inclusion through thought leadership, strategic direction and creative business solutions and has worked collaboratively to create initiatives that positively impact policies, practices, processes and people.

With over 25 years of experience as a diversity practitioner, Sherri previously led workforce diversity initiatives as the Chief Operating Officer for New Directions Management Services, Inc. She has also served as Senior Vice President of Membership for the Girl Scout Council of Middle Tennessee and as Assistant to the Director of the Kelly Miller Smith Institute at Vanderbilt University Divinity School.

Sherri has developed multiple award-winning models that advanced HCA Healthcare’s recognition for demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The company received top innovation honors from Diversity Journal for the BRAVE Conversations program as well as for Conscious Inclusion training, developed under her leadership. Sherri has a BS from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Science in Sustainable Management also from the University of Wisconsin (Superior).

Sherri is an active community volunteer and has received several recognitions, including the Tri-State Minority Supplier Development Council Champion Award, Tennessee State University’s Women of Legend and Merit Award and the Tennessee Hospital Association Diversity Champion Award.
