The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) offers internships for college students and recent graduates interested in gaining real-world experience in a museum setting. Interns work closely with museum staff and have access to valuable resources while contributing to meaningful projects across departments.
Our program provides hands-on opportunities that help students build skills and knowledge relevant to their academic and professional goals. Internships are offered during fall and spring semesters as well as summer breaks, aligning with most college and university calendars.
NMAAM is the only museum dedicated to preserving the legacy and celebrating the accomplishments of the many music genres created, influenced, or inspired by African Americans. Through history and interactive technology, the museum shares the story of the American Soundtrack and brings the musical heroes of the past into the present.
NMAAM is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all interns and employees.
