Sept 7 – Nov 5, 2024

Donation Corner

On September 7, 2024, the National Museum of African American Music proudly accepted a special donation from the legendary gospel and soul group, The Blind Boys of Alabama. Founded in 1939, the group has paved the way for generations of artists and has been honored with numerous awards and accolades throughout their storied career.

With gratitude to both the Blind Boys of Alabama and 72 Music Management, the museum received the following donated items:

  • Spirit of the Century (signed copy)
  • Echoes of the South (LP)
  • Performance suit worn by a group member
  • Signature drumsticks

These treasured artifacts are now part of our collection, helping to preserve and celebrate the group’s enduring legacy in American music.
