NMAAM National Chairs Nominated for Grammy Awards

Hip Hop and R&B are taking center stage at the 60th annual Grammy Awards!  The nominations were announced last week.

Three of the National Museum of African American Music National Chairs are on this year’s nominee list!

Here’s a look at their nominations:

Keb’ Mo’ and Taj Mahal are up for Best Contemporary Blues Album for their collaboration TajMo.

Gospel singer CeCe Winans earned nominations in two categories; Best Gospel Album for Let Them Fall in Love and Best Gospel Performance/Song for “Never Have to Be Alone.”

India.Arie is nominated for Best New Age Album for her album Songversation: Medicine.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z leads this year’s nominees list with eight nominations, followed close behind by Kendrick Lamar (7), Bruno Mars (6) and Childish Gambino (5). All four artists are nominated for both Album of the Year (along with Lorde) and Record of the Year (with “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber).
