Marquita Reed

Collections Manager

Marquita Reed is currently a Ph.D. A.B.D candidate at Middle Tennessee State University. Marquita received her B.A. in History from Florida State University and an M.A. in Public History from Florida International University before starting the Public History Ph.D. program at Middle Tennessee State University.

Working with numerous historical, organizing such as MTSU Center for Historic Preservation  Fisk University Library and Special Collections, and Florida Division of Historical Resources, Marquita has a background in education, collections management, curatorial management and exhibit design.

Areas of research include 19th and 20th century African American history, 20th-century American popular culture, material culture, and museology.
