Dionne LucasDirector, Marketing and Communications
The National Museum of African American Music has named Dionne Lucas as director of Marketing and Communications. Lucas most recently was contracted as a senior marketing manager for marketing firm Shared Vision. Prior, she was the marketing director for Tantus Manufacturing, Inc. She has previously worked for the Scandinavian Tobacco Group as a senior brand manager in Atlanta and the Coca-Cola Company for 10 years in numerous roles.
“This is a foundational year for the museum, and Dionne will be pivotal to our success,” NMAAM CEO H. Beecher Hicks III said. “As director of Marketing and Communications, she will engage with music and historical networks on a local and national level, making sure that everyone who wants to be involved with the museum can be involved. She will be our champion as we acquire artifacts for the museum, hit major milestones and become more active in Nashville’s many thriving communities.”
Lucas serves on the board of the Nashville Ballet and the MLS to Nashville Committee. Previously, she served on the Leadership Council for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is a graduate of the United Way VIP Program.
She has a B.A. degree in mass media from Clark Atlanta University.
