Davis joined the company in November 1997 as vice president of corporate communications and marketing, a position she held until she was appointed to her current role in February 2011. She joined HCA from Burson-Marsteller, where she was a managing director for Crisis and served as corporate practice chair for Latin American operations. Davis also held a number of public affairs positions in the George H.W. Bush and Reagan Administrations. She is a member of the D.C. Bar.
Davis currently serves as chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Federation of American Hospitals and is a member of the board of directors of the HCA Foundation, The HCA Hope Fund, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Teach for America, The Nashville Symphony, The Nashville Convention and Visitors Center and the National Museum for African American Music. She also serves on the Development Council of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
Born in New York and raised in North Carolina, Davis received a bachelor’s degree in English from Sweet Briar College and a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University. She and her husband, Ansel, reside in Nashville with their daughters.
